The situation

Perhitsiksha works so that no student drops out for lack of support. Its growth depended on two things that were hard to do by hand: earning the trust of donors and CSR partners, and keeping accurate records of every student, contributor, mentor and payment. Volunteers were spending much of their week on tracking instead of on students. A third gap sat alongside those two: no steady public presence, so the work reached only the people who already knew the foundation.

We run an education NGO, and before we started working with Material Lab, we were bogged down in ops and paperwork. Trying to track students, mentors, and donations on spreadsheets was eating up all our time, and our online presence just wasn't strong enough to bring in serious CSR funding or individual donors.

In just a few months, they completely changed how we operate. They handled everything from our branding to building a custom software platform. Now we have a great-looking, bilingual website that makes it incredibly easy for people to donate. More importantly, the backend portal they built automates our student records and payment proofs, which is easily saving us over 100 volunteer hours every week.

Between the new site and the social media push they ran for us, our CSR inquiries have actually tripled.

The Material Lab team genuinely cared about our mission and it showed in their work. I can't recommend them highly enough.

What we did

A brand the foundation could stand behind.

We built the identity first, so the site, the certificates, the social channels and the donation journey all read as one organisation.

Trust, in two languages.

The site leads with the students, in English and Hindi, and publishes the 12A, 80G and CSR certificates that CSR teams check before they give.

Giving in a few taps.

A short donation journey, tested on desktop and mobile in both languages.

One system instead of spreadsheets.

Vikas Setu tracks students, contributors, mentors and payment evidence, and each role sees only what it needs.

Proof of impact on demand.

Reports and impact views come straight from the records.

A public voice, run week to week.

We run the foundation's Instagram, Facebook and YouTube channels: the content, the video and the posting rhythm, so the students' story reaches donors and CSR teams who would never otherwise find the site.
